Matter & Interactions at High Point University

Matter and Interactions is a textbook developed by Ruth
Chabay and Bruce Sherwood that is the most innovative and exciting
introductory, calculusbased physics book that I've ever seen. It
has completely renewed my enthusiasm for teaching introductory physics.
Using Matter and Interactions in my course, I strive to
teach students to:
understand a few fundamental principles that can be used to
model a wide range of phenomena
model complex systems by making appropriate assumptions and
simplications and applying fundamental principles
use computational tools, such as computer programming, to solve
problems that cannot be easily solved analytically
